Power of SOUL during
SARS Attack
The SARS attack caused
substantial adverse
impacts to various industries
in Hong Kong. Among
these, education has
been affected considerably---class
suspension at all levels.
The normal operations
of schools/institutions
in particular the delivery
of classes and progress
assessment were disturbed
severely by the threat
of SARS (Severe Acute
Respiratory Syndrome).
The implementation of
the SOUL platform minimized
the impact of course
delivery at HKU SPACE.

Sym9 organized by the
Hong Kong Web Symposium
Consortium has been
postponed from 31 May
to 6 December 2003.
The Consortium set up
an online forum for
educators to discuss
the impacts of SARS
on teaching and learning.
